Recommend a Bridge camera that works with external flash?

I currently have a D80 + 18-200mm VR and SB-800 flash.
I use the camera indoors a fair bit for family photographs and find the external flash makes a huge difference - especially when used remotely on a tripod.

I am seriously considering downsizing to a bridge camera as I find the D80 too bulky to take everywhere when we go out. But I still want the flexibility of using an external flash when at home.

Can anyone recommend a decent bridge camera that works well with a remote flash (preferrably Nikon but will consider others)?

I dont want the latest all singing highest res models as I would like the replacment bridge camera + flash to cost considerably less than what I will get for my Nikon gear on here or Ebay. So I am happy to consider a slightly older model camera which can be picked up on here or on Ebay.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Panasonic DMC-FZ30, Canon S5, Fuji S100 FS, Nikon Coolpix P6000 to start with.

Even my old Fuji 602Z could use external Flash, so I imagine isnt a rare feature in the higher end non DSLRs. Check though
Canons Powershot G10 certainly can as did the older Powers shot Pro one

Thanks for the replies.

With my Nikon D80 the SB 800 is controlled wirelessly and uses some allegedly clever Nikon Advanced Lighting control system.
Would these cameras also have similar features if I got the right flash?

I am not talking about the ability to control multiple units (commander mode etc) just the ability to intelligently control the flash level wirelessly.

Most Probably not

Even with Canon DSLRs you need an St-E2 wireless add on ( £140!) .I had to get one although it does have a lot of fancy tricks up its sleeve, and its AF assist is very discreet
