Image Stabilization problem

Hi, I recently bought a Canon Stabilization Lens, but I have in my opinion a problem with it, When I zoom out the Image Shake without stop I must do a Zoom in to stop this. is this normal in Some Canon IS Lens? I can upload a video if someone need to see the problem.
Many thanks

Re: Image Stabilization problem

Not sure just what you mean but if you mean you get blur on Zoom

It could mean : the lens is faulty
or
You are using the IS at its limits
The long end of a Zoom does magnify hand shake and this is one instance when IS proves itself unless you are asking too much of it

If you use the lens handheld at a very low shutter speed IS will not work
A little more info on what shutter speed , focal length and shooting conditions and aperture) the IS is failing would be helpful
The use of Flash Higher and higher ISO can limit your reliance on IS
and there is always the tripod..

Re: Image Stabilization problem

Its hard to say from the video , but if you mean that the image "shakes" when you are wide and not when Zooom , I would take the lens back to be checked for peace of mind

IS ( when it works well) should shop blur from shake at any focal length hand held
It may not show until you use the shutter button ans a very low shutter speed is selected
Im curious about the video.. does the camera do video? Which model is it?
Also if you want to test this why not turn off the IS put the camera on a tripod at both focal lengths to see how it goes
