What setting would this be?

An old friend had a camera that would take pictures like this, but I forgot what the setting was called. Also, would a Canon 400/450D be able to take pictures like this

Thanks

Re: What setting would this be?

Hello there

Don't think you can do this in camera.

The way I would do this is set the camera on a tripod, and use the fastest bust speed, and shotsaway, then in photoshop merge the pictures using layers and the masking tool.

Cheers Holo

Re: What setting would this be?

A 400D / 450D should be more than capable.

As Hollow says, place the camera on a tripod, set a fast shutter speed and then take some test shots for exposure / focus etc.

Then just set the cameras drive mode to Continuous or whatever Canon call it (basically the setting that keeps taking shots until you release the button).

There's a tutorial on this site for how to stich the shots together into one action sequence.: 30 Radical Photo Sequences | Abduzeedo - design inspiration and tutorials

Don't be put off by the use of the word "radical"

The pic you posted is actually on there too.

Alternatively just Google "how to photograph action sequence" or something similar. It's very popular in extreme sports photography so there will be loads of tutorials other than the one linked above.
