Curves In Photoshop elements

Hi - i know that one of the features missing from Elements is Curves. I have however heard that there are some tips, tricks and-ons out there that pretty much give you access to curves processing.

Anyone out there using Elements care to share?

While we are at it - any of the other features not available in Elements out of the box (when comparing with CS*) but can be added (for free) using 3rd party add-ons?

cheers,

Nige

Hello mate. This might be an answer for you. Not tried it myself but it looks like it'll do the job.

Re: Curves In Photoshop elements

Although I have been using CS for some time, I still think Elements is a highly user friendly programme and still use it often for quick work.

It has more useability than at first appears and my experience of 3rd party add-ons is that they seem to work well. For curves in version 6 I'm not sure, but this looks interesting (I haven't tried it though!) SmartCurve

Earthboundlights add-ons have worked well for me and the one for letting you use masks is fine with version 6.

There is a big list of plug-ins etc at http://www.thepluginsite.com/resources/freeps.htm.

Of all the things I've added though the best free plug-in (imho) for both elements and the full CS is "Virtual Photographer" from optikvervelabs.com. It is well written, a doddle to use, and adds a whole suite of effects for your images.
