Screen differences

I have a dual screen set up in that I have my laptop screen and an external lg tft. Pictures look quite different on the different screens and I was just wondering which would be the better screen to do the editing on?

Or is it a case of getting something that looks ok on both?

Thanks

Re: Screen differences

What you really should do is invest in a screen calibrator and calibrate both screens.
Affordable screen calibrators like the pantone huey and the colorvision spyder are what you should be looking at.

dabs.com - Pantone huey display colour calibration kit (MEU101)

dabs.com - ColorVision Spyder 2 express (DATA114)

What type of screens you have also come into play here , TN panels are not as colour accurate as S-IPS panels and so on , however its rare that the calibration kits posted cannot accurately calibrate a screen so you should try one of those.

After calibration the screens should look identical in terms of colour accuracy.

Re: Screen differences

Which laptop do you have and which monitor do you have? Knowing which model will tell people what kind of panels are being employed

With laptops good quality panels are rare; Apple Macbook Pro, top-end Sony

Monitor Specifications (panel types)

If you do not want to invest in a hardware calibrator, the very least you can do is find free colour charts online (colour, hue, black -> white)
