Camera used mainly for taking pictures of people close up, i.e portraits, baby shots, indoors mainly, once where you can just shoot no need to mess about with the settings, nothing to bulky.. i.e canon powershot size...

The only camera I've seen to get recommendations at this price is the Canon Powershot A470.
Of course, it's possible that some older good cameras are available on special offers. But this the one which wins budget grouptests.

BTW I have no experience of this camera. Was just considereing it for my son's birthday.
