I'm not sure about battery life but I've been looking around for a similar such camera and have looked in vain for the offer that .. Amazon ? .. made me of a simple camera plus matching case in a tasteful shade of my favorite color,
Blue. which offer I deleted a bit too soon
Amazon is still pushing these things and here is one in Pink

I
am considering the merits of ...
Nikon Coolpix P5100 Digital Camera - Black 2.5" LCD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
Which is a bit beyond your budget but there must be something that sits between the two ?
Hum ... down to £260 on my Nikon ..

Battery life is a bit of a problem dependent as it is on so many variables.
I hope that this is of help.
P S ... it was quite a pretty shade of Blue ... problems, problems.
