I only have one image so far (last months competition!)

Hi Mark.
The image I was contacted for is in one flickr group (rollercoasters). It has no tags, only has 36 views to date, and the title is something like IMG_3459. The buyer must have just gone straight for the rollercoasters group to search for potential images and bingo - right place, right time for me. I could have added lots of tags and splattered it across umpteen groups but I doubt that would have increased its 'sales potential' much. They found me with little or no effort on my part.
It's true if you want to get your images seen by many on flickr just add them to lots of groups and add lots of tags, description, interesting title etc, as has already been suggested, but I wouldn't expect too much in the way of direct sales from this approach.
Microstock (fotolia etc) may be a better way for you to sell some images.
