Jessops D90 bundle and a book question

Right hoping to pick up a D90 kit this week or next, as the average price has gone up.

Ive not been out onto the highstreet yet to look at the indi's but Jessops have some good deals with the D90, lense, memmory card and bag. Are these good value for money? Or am I getter off getting the camera from there and the other pics from else where?

I dont mind buying online, but I prefer with somthing like this to have a retail presence, and I accept I will pay a premium for that. Of course the other thing to think about, is how long Jessops will stay in business for with teh current economic climate.

Well that was my first question, my second is regarding Lightroom/Photoshop.

I have both CS4, Lightroom2, and can get Elements through work, but I would like to get some books or tutorials on how to process images through the packages, how to tweak them etc.

I have some books on the basics of photography, but need to re-read them.

So any help is appricated

Thanks

Kimbie

I'd strongly suggest buying the camera from Jessops, and everything else online (unless you want to actively support high street stores). Memory cards and bags are about half the price online.

I've got the Abobe CS3 classroom book and the martin evening CS3 book, if I'm honest I find I pickup more tips buying "Digital Photo" Mag every month for learning stuff or visiting the forum than referencing the two books I've mentioned.

I was looking at this memory card SanDisk 4GB Extreme III SD (SDHC) Card - Class 6 as you say over half the price of Jessops.

I will have a look for the bag threads on here and see what I can find.

dazza,

I was after a book more to get my head back round photoshop as its been some time since I have. But I do know what you mean by doing, and visiting sites.
