Focus on Imaging 2009

Hey all,

Happy New Yaer and all that!!

Is anyone venturing over to Focus On Imaging this year?

Its a bit of a trek for me from Carlisle so was wondering if people went last year and specifically what bargains are to be had there.

What did you buy and for how much??

I need my trip to justify train/petrol fare.

I am actively looking to purchase a 70-200 2.8L around that time (money permitting, of course) so will be looking for that if there. But with so many good deals and traders out there (the likes of Kerso, etc) can a massive saving be made at FOI?

Thoughts, opinions and experiences greatly welcome.

Re: Focus on Imaging 2009

I'm planning on attending this show too, travelling down from Manchester.

I've never been before but from what I've read on talkphotography, Sunday is the best day for freebies as when they've gone they've gone.

If you want to pick up bargains apparently Wednesday is your day as they are more likely to accept offers for the display items.

The last 2 times it's been on I've been in NZ (oh the jet set life style I lead ).
Unfortunately the money has run out, so a trip down to Brum looks possible.

FOCUS ON IMAGING 2009 Bustin'

Would anyone know, if I took my Nikon camera to the Nikon stand, would they clean the sensor for free there an then ?

Re: Focus on Imaging 2009

How about a trip to the show followed by a curry / beer meet up ?
