Bleak Manor

Not been getting out enough with the camera really for my liking. I left this afternoon with the promise of a bright spell and it ended up dull instead.

Three with Pentax K10D & 16-45 lens.

Number 2 for me, Im no pro but number 1 doesn't do anything for me....there just seems to be no interesting angle or composition which you have spot on in number 2

Re: Bleak Manor

#1 sorry but it looks a bit bland, not helped with the grey sky of course but I wonder what was the effect you were after. Clipped top right and off centre.
Not for me that one!

#2 I like this one, the HDR has helped with some of the detail. Was it one exposure or 3? The overlay effect work well as does the tilt.

#3 the trunk a the rear left is off putting and again it look a little flat.

sorry for the negatives, and it may just be me. But I do like #2!

cheers

#1 - Was not after an effect as such. Just wanted to capture the front of the manor house and thought the steps would be a welcome addition (a lead in of sorts) instead of empty space. Had to fix distortion because the building was leaning back a tad and therefore had to crop the image etc which is why it's ended off centre I think. I wonder what HDR would do for this photo?!

#2 was HDR from 1 RAW.

Re: Bleak Manor

Like #2 very much - like the processing effect.

Like the mono conversion of #1 as well - really brought out the detail in the sky.

Possibly is unlevel. Wouldn't be the first time either.
