the only think that puts me off reading a review is the level of noise it creates

It also mentions the flash being near the handgrip , is this a problem ?

I am after a camera as i have a Canon Powershot S5 IS but it's bulky to carry when your out and about and just wanted to take some shots!

I looked that the 960 on Amazon , although it was a good price, i went to look at it in Currys yesterday and it just seems a bit bulky and dated!

Hasnt really been an issue for me to be honest! I suppose it depends how you hold it!

You will always get a certain amount of noise on a compact camera!! Its not going to produce DSLR quality images but as a substitute for me carryin the 5D to parties etc, its perfect for snap shots!!

Just picked this camera up today. Was looking at paying £176 so very pleased I saw this thread and saved myself a few pounds.

As for the camera its very nice, haven't had much of a play yet but I got it because I hate pictures where you get too much surrounding stuff and the optical zoom should let me get at what I want.
