Laptop Screen Calibration

I use Photoshop CS to edit photos on my Sony Vaio laptop screen. I usually have the images printed by RGB Labs, or other professional and sometimes on my own printer.

I want my setup so that what I see on-screen is more like what will be printed, especially in relation to brightness.

I know I need to calibrate my screen but need some help in this. I have tried to follow instructions on various websites, example below, where you adjust the brightness and contrast, however, photos are still darker when printed compared to the screen.

Monitor calibration and setup for photography and printing

Can anyone help?

Thanks
