OK, I have left ordering the pressies to the last minute, as usual!

I have done some research here and now know a good deal more about Digital Photo Frames and realise I don't just buy the one that looks most pretty but I am running out of time. Can anyone recommend one that:

Has 4:3, 800 x (whatever it is) display - the best available really.
SD and Compact Flash slots.
7" or 9".
Will display photos for longer than a couple of minutes.
Has a timer so photos display at set periods.
Has option of rechargeable battery as well as mains.
Has a simple, classy frame.

I am looking at Philips, Toshiba, but not Sony (yes, I know they are good but I refuse to advertise Sony in my living room - large company logo on all products).

Is that bloke's bum at the top of the screen annoying anyone else as much as me each time I log on here!!!

FYI
On the Sony V700 I bought for someone for Xmas, you can turn off the Sony logo! [it's a menu option]

I think this is the same for most of the Sony photoframes

Yeah, I read that you could do that but it will still be there, like a blemish. I did notice though that one of the Philips I was looking at also had a logo, if a little smaller.

I suppose we put up with them on our TV sets and radios but on something so small as a photo frame it seemes a bit distracting.

FYI - Once it's turned off, you can't actually see the logo (or where is was - it just looks plain black.

Thanks for that - maybe will have a rethink.

I got one the other year and unless you look at it square on it's terrible (but it was a good price). So be wary of the viewing angles depending on where you expect to place the screen.
