Canon Powershot SX1 & SX10, thoughts?

Finally decided it's time to upgrade from my old Ixus 400. Really want something with a lot more manual settings that will allow me to progress from just the usual 'point & shoot' photography. Have been looking for some time at the various Powershot and G range (only ever had Canon cameras - so I guess comfort in familiarity!) and these two have really caught my eye.

Anyone have any thoughts on these two, the SX1 has a CMOS sensor and allows 1080p video capture and costs approx £100 more than the SX10, other than that they seem pretty similar. In this price range and spec what would be the other candidates I should consider?

Thanks guys

Re: Canon Powershot SX1 & SX10, thoughts?

I briefly had a Canon 40D (Had to return due to redundancy threat) and to be honest it seemed too "Professional" for me (I too have the IXUS400). I am now however looking at the SX1 myself as a "Best of both worlds" replacement, I intend to go and have a play with one this weekend to see how they feel.

There is a review of the SX10 here.

Digital Camera Resource Page Review: Canon PowerShot SX10 IS

One negative was the heavy noise reduction, but there are plenty of good points in the review.

Any reasons why I shouldn't go for the SX1 over a dSLR of similar (Well, slightly more) value?

The lens seems very capable and I assume dust isn't an issue with these (Dust would drive me crazy)? HD movie recording is an added bonus too.
