Digital photo frame

Can someone recommend me a digital photo frame that has WiFi - I seen a Kodak one recently, but it only seemed to be able to connect to Kodak Photo Gallery & Flickr. I don't want to use either of these services if possible, so I was wondering if any of the WiFi photo frames can be set up to use another service?

I did notice the Kodak one had some kind of RSS support, so I dont know if that means I can set up my own RSS feed with photos and have it pick those up?

Re: Digital photo frame

I was looking for a wifi picture frame a few months ago, and although I did find a few (the kodak being one of them) all of them seemed only to be able to stream from online sources (fliker etc) and although this is great what I really wanted was to stream the photos off my NAS via CIFS or NFS....

In the end I gave up looking and bought a cheap ASUS small form factor pc, some mains home plug adaptors, and a 19 inch screen, and now this is happily streaming pictures from my NAS. In total I think I spent around £400 for this, and although not portable, I think a much nicer solution. A second benifit is that it has also allowed me to rip all my DVD's to my NAS (200 odd) and the pc is now connected to my TV via HDMI and I can browse and watch all my DVD's....

Cheers Tony

Re: Digital photo frame

I don't think these have wifi connections but they were the best buys in Which? last month:
TOP BEST BUY: Toshiba TekBright
Toshiba Tekbright Photo Frame - Digital photo frame - 7 in

The Toshiba TekBright is a Best Buy digital photo frame with an excellent 7-inch screen. Photos are displayed clearly and with sharp colours, and its simple to use.

The TekBrights touch-sensitive controls are located on the lower front part of the frame and are illuminated by a blue backlight. This turns off when not in use, reappearing when tapped. These controls are easy to operate, and the menu system is very clear, though a remote control would have been a nice addition.

Image quality from the 720x480 pixel display is very impressive. Colours and whites are accurately reproduced, and theres a very good slideshow feature. However, the frames aspect ratio is quite unusual (3:2), so make sure you use this setting on your camera to avoid losing some of the image or ending up with black bars around the edges.

The Toshiba TekBright cant play videos, but does have a built-in speaker. It can also be wall mounted.

You can copy photos directly from your memory card, or use the USB connection should you want to run images from your computer. It also has 64MB of internal memory.

The TekBright also scores highly for its green credentials. Power consumption is pretty low and, unlike some frames, it includes a proper on/off switch allowing you to turn it off completely when its not in use, rather than just putting it into stand by.

Pros: Good image quality, easy to use

Cons: No remote control

OTHER BEST BUYS:
Sony DPF-V700
Philips 7FF2FPAS/00
Samsung SPF-72H
Kodak EasyShare M820
