Flashgun and the Tripod (Xmas goodies)

Ahoy!

Tripod and new flashgun . . . ?

'Her indoors' said I could have both! So am ordering the Chinese made TRISTAR 'RedSnapper' tripod and ballhead (there is a pistol grip - but won't bear weight of Sigma 100-300mm and A700), and a Sony HVL-F42 flashgun - Jacobs Digital - use code: FPANDP) for free p&p.

Where's the rum bottle?

Ever tried playing Wii in the buff?

Sony HVL-F42AM flashgun arrived today (2 days after ordering). Soooo simple; lightweight and just easy-peasy to use. Fantastic! Redsnapper tripod arrives in a couple of days.

Great is it not.

I've been spoilt rotten lately.

In the last month I've had an f4 beercan, 50mm f1.7, minolta 24-105mm, manfrotto tripod, HVL-42 flash, remote release, and finally an extra card and battery.

I'm getting nothing on xmas day now. Someone should have told me about the addiction that comes with the world of SLR.

Re: Flashgun and the Tripod (Xmas goodies)

Ahoy!

Snapper tripod and ballhead arrived yesterday. Beefy pieces of kit. Would've liked bigger lateral/vertical levels rather than a central round bubble (my eyes are shot anyway), but that aside, it's a well made heavy-duty setup. At £95.15 delivered (inc. 10% discount), not too shabby. The pod's bag is nice too, and the shoulder strap is rubberised and well padded, so feels very comfortable when carrying.

At last I can actually get some tripod shooting done.
