5 shots of the same thing, or 'One of these kids is doing his own thing'

Took the young one for a stumble over the stones down near the harbour - only when I got home did I discover all my photographs had the same thing in - not planned that way..

Surprising how sneaky striped towers can be when it comes to getting into photos!

Number 4 fave for me, texture of the pebbles and the clouds is gorgeous.

Number 2, what settings were used? the movement on the boy is cool.

Particularly like, well, them all really. Each one has something in I like and seems to add something to the shot.
Quality photos.

All 5 are great, nice B&W conversions too. What lens were you using ?

I like them all. The stripey tower thingy adds an eerie quality to them when you look at them as a set.

Re: 5 shots of the same thing, or 'One of these kids is doing his own thing'

I caught these last night on flickr, they make a really nice set. 3 & 4 are especially good (and I have to admit I've never heard of the leaning tower of Aberystwyth before...! ).
The only thing I'm not such a fan of is the shadow cast by the rock in number 2, but there's not an awful lot you can do about that without a multi flash setup.

I set it up manually, underexposed the background slightly - then with the Flash set to full power, I gave it a pop at 1/500 in high sync mode.

All shot with the Tokina 12-24mm f/4. The 3rd one was at 12mm, hence the leaning tower of Aber

I have to say, I love this lens. Sharp and solidly built - the only drawback is CA at high contrast.

Thanks all.

Re: 5 shots of the same thing, or 'One of these kids is doing his own thing'

difficult to choose but my favourite is #4 a nice amount going on in the image plenty to look at. Like the B&W conversions on all of them just the right balance for me.

Does look a good lens the Tokina, with the fixed F4 I think it's a better investment that the sigma 10-20 personally

Re: 5 shots of the same thing, or 'One of these kids is doing his own thing'

Is it me or is the first shot have some kind of optical illusion on it?
To me it feels like the object is small but its also far away... but from the cropping it looks like its only 5-10 meters away.. then you look at the ladder and go ***.. then the clouds start to swirl and ..before you know it your lying on the ground foaming at the mouth...
