How much could I expect if I sold the following kit?

Hi all,

As the credit crunch begins to really sting, and the realisation that I'm [sadly] hardly using my camera kit these days, I'm wondering whether now's the time to sell it off to generate some much needed funds. With this in mind, how much could I expect to generate selling the following:

Canon 400D Body - bought May 2006, with less than 5000 actuations. MINT condition, no marks, scratches, nothing.

Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5 - bought December 2007, again in MINT condition, no marks, dust spots, scratches, nothing.

If it's something in the region of £200 ish, then I'd rather keep it. Anyone any realistic ideas as to how much to expect?

Thanks in advance.

Re: How much could I expect if I sold the following kit?

Bit off topic I sold my nikon d40 to fund my d90. I did include the kit lens (18-55) and the 55-200 I got with it. Got £280 off ebay (had an offer of 250 and said 280 was the min i would take). Was quite pleased as Amazon were doing the d40 and 18-55 for £225 at the time.

Re: How much could I expect if I sold the following kit?

I would have thought £150 for the lens (just bought one off another forum for my k10D and thats about what I paid with postage).
Body should get about £250 so you are looking at around £400 but then have to detract around 10% for Ebay and Paypal fees.
May be easier to offer it here on the forum first and take a small drop rather than pay the fees.

Re: How much could I expect if I sold the following kit?

Seems like £400 is pretty achievable. With this in mind, and the Sony a200 available for about £250 with 18-70 Kit Lens, would mean I could still keep my eye in on the photography side (which is what I would ideally like to do, rather than leave it altogether) and still have ~£150 for those all important bills and stuff......Sony a200 gets some pretty good reviews from what I can find....
