He was reporting that the company had recovered his files though and thay seem to use a variety of techniques
I recently also had a Sandisk Cruzer 8Gb( normally reliable) just throw a wobbly refusing all manner of recovery and gave up on it. After reformatting it works well..clearly not hardware but file system corruption
90% of the time The Rescue Pro from Sandisk works a treat but some of the more nameless " generic" USB flash keys fail.without warning and manufacturer is often unknown...
