Write protect Smartcards

My Smartcards seem to become Write Protected without any prompting. I have not added any labels onto the casing. Any advice on how to unprotect them will be appreciated.

Do you load your pics onto your PC via a card reader? If so did you format the card on the PC. This can make cards unreadable by a camera and should not be done.
Reformat the card in the camera and in future just delete the photos from the card, not format it.

Don't know if this is the problem, but worth a try.

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I do use a card reader to load onto a PC. I formatted the card in the camera. The card reader loses its efficiency if I can only delete images from the card when it is in the camera.

No, I only meant not to format the card on the PC, it's ok to format in the camera.
