Bit of a sunrise this morning...

Rule no. 1

Prepare for early morning shots by setting up everything the night before.

Did I?
Nope, ended up with wrong lens, wrong settings, etc. Oh and no tripod plate.

Rule no. 2

Have a cuppa before you leave.

Did I?
Nope, and it was blooming freezing on that hill.

Anyways, as luck would have it Mother Nature played a blinder this morning.

and one day I might just be able to think before I get out.

Thanks Baz, I've been on the look out lately for trees on the horizon, think I've found a spot.

Re: Bit of a sunrise this morning...

Hello there

Well worth getting up for it seemslooks a good spot.

Just a little suggestion on the 1st one, maybe darken the foreground to make it look a bit more like a silhouette.

Cheers Holo

That's the one.

Looks great on black, and now it brings the colour of the sky out.

Re: Bit of a sunrise this morning...

Very nice shots there, especially the second one.

I've been rather sad that dawn is getting later, I liked it when dawn was about 5am and I could take a walk to my local reserve and enjoy the dawn activity without all the dogwalkers around to scare off the birds and rabbits - it's going to be harder to find peace there until the spring. Still, should get some migrants coming in now (am on the lookout for redwings) and the falling leaves will make spotting birds in the trees easier.

Super shots. I really like both in their own different ways. Splendid job mate. Tea or no tea
