Need scanner for Kodachrome 126 slides

I've been asked by my parents to scan in nearly 1500 old slides from the late 60's and 70's.

These are not 35mm slides but the 126 format slides.

Has anyone had any experience of scanning these types of slides, as it seems all of the slide capable scanners on the market are only geared up to scan 35mm slides.

Regards

Tony

I've done non-35mm slides using a flatbed scanner with a slide/negative adapter. I used the vuescan software, VueScan Scanning Software , as Canon's default driver was only set up of 35mm.

EDIT Good explanation here ... Ted Marcus' Virtual Light Table: Scanning 110-Format Film (and Kodachrome)

I'm slightly confused by your request,

126 slides were the same width as 35mm film, albeit on a square format, so some judicious DIY on a 35mm film carrier with a sharp knife and some black paper might get you the desired result, but..

are a different beast altogether, and you'd need to scan at a fairly high resolution to get the detail out of those little b's, even if you could find a suitable carrier.

Re: Need scanner for Kodachrome 110 slides

I edited the thread seconds after posting as I put them down as 110 not 126 slides, but for some reason it keeps saying 110 !

Re: Need scanner for Kodachrome 110 slides

Ah - I understand now

Anyways - can you butcher a 35mm carrier for 126 use?
