A few from the past couple of days

Hi all

I have a fondness for squirrels so I thought I'd share a few that I've taken over the past couple of days. They have been taken in Bury st Edmunds and Colchester.

As always comments and crits are always welcome!

They were taken with a Canon 30D and a Canon 55-250 IS lens (an amazing piece of kit for such a low price)

Kind regards

Sarah

No 2 is superb. I also have the 55-250 IS but have not had much of a chance to use it yet. I hope when I do I get results as good as yours.

Re: A few from the past couple of days

Number 2 looks great! Considering the retial price for the lens as well, that's a fantastic photo.

Re: A few from the past couple of days

Thank you all for the lovely comments everyone!

Numbers 1 and 2 were taken in Abbey Gardens, and the 3rd in Colchester Castle Park.

I absolutely love my 55-250mm IS. In fact (and I'll probably get abuse for this) but I used the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS L lens on my 30D but still prefer the cheaper lens, and I have had better results from the cheaper lens!

Re: A few from the past couple of days

Wow, I love all three, but no. 2 is great, really sharp. I love squirrel photos!

Would this lens perform about as well on the 450D?
Cheers!

Hi,

Thankyou for your comments. I haven't had the 30D long (about a month) and so I used the 55-250 IS on my now-back-up camera - Canon 400D, an awful lot. I'll try and find some pictures that were taken with the 400D and the lens.

Re: A few from the past couple of days

Very nice shots. My favourite is the third one in the first post because of the expression. I think cropping the shot to bring the wee critter forward would work nicely.

That seems like a very bold statement to make (seeing that there is about a £1000 in price difference?). Im wanting to buy one of these (70-200 F2.8 IS) lenses, can anyone please confirm if in there exsperience if they have also achieved beter results with the cheaper lens?
