Olympus lens adaptor advice

I've just spotted a lens adaptor for Olympus SLR lens for use on the E520-400 range. Anyone used one and have opinions on whether its practical and or worthwhile? It would instantly give me some very long lenses reusing old kit if it was any good. Any drawbacks or problems I should be aware of if using it? Thanks

The drawbacks are that you need to focus manually and stop down the aperture manually - you can meter manually or via aperture priority but not via shutter priority.

It's easier (brighter viewfinder image) to focus with the lens wide open but you may not want to be taking the shot wide open so the shooting process is: open aperture, focus, stop down & shoot - It's actually a lot quicker than it sounds.

Many of the OM Zuiko lenses give excellent results on 4/3 but some are not so good - see here.

You can also get adaptors to use other makers lenses (e.g.Nikon, Contax, M42 etc) on 4/3 - there's some excellent glass out there which would have cost an arm and a leg but is now selling for pennies - go get it

Re: Olympus lens adaptor advice

Thanks for the reply and that link, its definitely worth trying it out it seems.

I have a Rokkor 100-300mm that was always my favourite, perhaps I should look for an adaptor for that...
