Beginner Photographer

Hi Everyone,

Iv'e just been out to the local woods with my new Nikon Coolpix 8400.

I'm posting them on here to get people's opinions on them as i know they can be improved on but i'm not really sure how yet.

I took them with the mode's already set on the camera (mainly landscape and close up)

First one

Second

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...m/DSCN0113.jpg

Third

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...m/DSCN0105.jpg

Finally the last one

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...m/DSCN0097.jpg

What do you all think to these? What could i do to improve them?

I've havn't used photoshop ( i would'nt know where to start)

Thankyou for taking the time out to look at them.

Re: Beginner Photographer

Number 1 is your strongest, good lines at a good low angle. I would suggest enhancing the long trees either by cropping it into portrait mode on the PC to or retake the shot in portrait (ie turn the camera sideways)

Crop the butterfuly shot as there is alot of green leaves in the background that are not adding anything to the image.

Re: Beginner Photographer

looking good on #1 and #3, bit of camera shake on 2 & 4, probably to low shutter speed.

Nicely defined subject on 3, although your file sizes are a little too large for the forum.

A lot of people here save to Flickr and then link back using a smaller image. Failing that do as you are doing but save the original as a smaller file size.

You need to be 300k max.

Above all keep snapping and posting!
