Re: Crathes Castle wedding shoot

Technically they look great. However, they lack a touch of realism - where's the big smiles of the happy couple, the laughter of the big day?

I can imagine it's a hard job to get models to pull that off if they are not a couple! Good luck with your real wedding, im sure you bag a couple of 'real' shots for you portfolio!

Thanks for the comments, its very difficult to fake happy! The whole thing was a bit last minute. So just went for arty insted. Its a start to the portfolio anyways! Here is another one, got a bunch more to go through. Thanks for looking.

Crathes Castle is about 15 miles away from Aberdeen in Scotland.

I find the variety OK, although Im not sure about the overall soft look, is it deliberate, added in PP or due to compression for web viewing . Biting sharp is equally a put off for some but a measured amount of sharpness would not be amiss IMHO

Good luck with the real thing
It is good you're had a dummy run and know the venue
The difference with the real thing is
Pressure to deliver quality stuff ( no second chances) and
The "unexpected"..
All the very best

Re: Crathes Castle wedding shoot

Excellent stuff even if it was a mock wedding, did you use the 24-70mm 2.8 for most of these?

Re: Crathes Castle wedding shoot

I shot with the 70-200 2.8 is outside, wide open for most of the shots. Indoors was the 50mm usually wide open at 1.4mm. They are a touch soft wide open, but it was the look i was going for. Unfortunatly the wedding on friday is at adifferent venue. Again thanks for all the comments.

Nice set of pictures. You have got the skill and the camera equipment to use it. Good luck with the real wedding shoot.
