Been missing these, all I can with #1 with thats Struggling with your Mojo, well I haven't even got one. Thats a great picture, never a big fan of selective colouring, but this works really well. Nice one

Re: A boat and some rocks

Sheesh if my mojo ever slips that far

Just kidding.
Seriously, I really like #1 a lot. I wouldn't mind knowing how you achieved that sky effect if it isn't too much of a trade secret?
#2 is nice too (& very very Vulkan™) but there's something about the reddish glow around the rocks that seems slightly strange (may just be me though) and in any case I know I'm being a bit picky.

I dont know if you mean it looks unnatural or something..it is however, how the light fell on the wet rocks...ive not added it or anything like that...processing was minimal...I think I nudged the hue to slightly more orange thats about it.

Thanks for your opinion

Re: A boat and some rocks

Yup. You've still got 'it'.
The angle in #1 works really well, as do the tones/colours. Was it selective colouring or just a drop of the saturation? Nice effect either way.
Love the reflections from the wet rocks, esp in #2. Lifts the overall brightness of the shot without losing the moody light of the sunset. Can't see any EXIF on flickr. How long were the exposures of #2 and #3?

Re: A boat and some rocks

Nice shots Alex, interesting processing on the first one - but i'd have to straighted that horizon line up

Really like the figure in the 3rd - looks a bit wild.

No I wasn't suggesting you'd added it When I looked at it last night I thought the red patches on the rocks in the bottom right corner were catchlights but they seemed somehow too big and too red. Looking again I see they aren't catchlights at all ........I'll get my coat

Re: A boat and some rocks

Lovely pictures and just the right amount of blur in the sea to give a feeling of movement but not turn it into something like dry ice.

Thanks. I guess the horizon could do with a bit more tilt for the effect I was after. The boat was actually on a shallow pitch bank and I wanted to portray it kinda leaning..as if it were dumped by the retreating tide,iv e ended up fluffing it...i knew you'd spot it eagle eye

processing was just desat the green in levels and hike the blue...I picked up on the Bluefin boat name and tried to introduce the hue as a compliment

thanks though
