camera shops in Bristol?

possibly a leading question but can someone recommend good camera shops in Bristol? I'm down there on work most weeks now and I'm close to Bristol Cameras, but I've found them hit and miss when it comes to customer service. So any others?

Re: camera shops in Bristol?

There a couple (perhaps a few) LCEs in Bristol. The two I know are in the centre, one on Baldwin Street, one on the Horsefair (which is Pete's domain).

There's also Jessops of course, and Bristol Cameras as you mentioned. I think there's a Calumet somewhere, and then further out there are a few places (eg Ace Cameras in Yate - they're quite expensive though).

Clifton Cameras used to be in....Clifton, but have now somewhat bizarrely moved out near Gloucester somewhere I think. That's a decent shop actually, and prices seem pretty decent if you ever venture near them.

Oh, and Jacobs as well, but don't recall exactly where they are.

To be honest, depending on what you're looking for, I find that reserving stuff online with Jessops and collecting in store usually works out to provide pretty decent savings. I have bought a couple of things from Ace cameras, but that was largely because they were the only place in Bristol that had the item I was looking for in stock. I can't say I initially rated their service, but subsequently (when something went wrong) they were excellent - I'm not convinced Jessops would have been the same (but would have been cheaper). If you're near Bristol Cameras, you'll be near LCE. I'd ping Pete if I were you.
