Moggie portraint - w/85mm f/1.8

Morning all

Quick one of my neighbours cat. Cropped and slightly tweaked for levels. This is the first proper use for my canon 85mm f/1.8. The image is clickable.

5D | 85mm | f/2.8 | 1/125sec | ISO200

Cheers

Stunning shot, no distracting background really helps to draw you to the cats eyes.

If I liked cats, I'd say this was very good indeed

Re: Moggie portrait - w/85mm f/1.8

Thanks all

The image is incredibly sharp on the eyes. Proves my new 85 f/1.8 is pretty good (*relief*). Oh, and there's nowt wrong with the 5D's AF. However I wonder if it could benefit from the focus micro adjust as per Tobers 1D MkIII??

Either way, thanks for the comments. It's great feedback / comments like these that inspire me to try harder and harder. Cheers

Well, you can't have too many pussy pics - and this one is superb. Just goes to show how good a prime lens can be.

Of course it helps having a very beautiful cat to photograph, but don't tell my cat I said that, otherwise she'll bring me an extra mouse or two tonight just to get her own back .

Re: Moggie portrait - w/85mm f/1.8

That's pretty top drawer stuff. I wouldn't touch the focus adjustment, which is a good job as you cant do it on a 5D .
