taking pictures of horse advice please

hey guys im kind of new on here i only have a samsung p1000 digital cam so nothing special i have horses and i would like some tips on takign some good horse pictures i have loads of pictures but they just seems like the normal boring pics you get so any advice or tips would be great thanks.

Animals - focus on the eyes, use a wide aperture to blur out the background - leave space in front of them within the frame. This will give the image a more dynamic feel. Avoid shooting on bright sunny days, contrast between dark/light patches will throw your sensor off. Try bright overcast days or within the first few hours of morning or last few hours of evening.

Get close up and use wide angle for an interesting effect - as long as you are comfortable being that close to the horse. Otherwise zoom in as much as possible.

great thanks yeah there my horses so i can do what ever i like they just stand there really.
