DSLR Info/Help

Hi all
Last night i was talking to a relative who said she was sick of 'shutter lag' on her compact.I told her about my D50 & am going to show her it over the w/end.
The question is the D50 is getting on abit now & new ones are out, which one of the following is a good choice for a newbie to DSLR?

Canon 1000D (i know its not out yet)
Canon 400D
-
Nikon D40/40x
Nikon D60

I dont want a Canon v Nikon debate just which ones to look at first,as she will have to go & 'feel' them & have a play

Cheers for any info

Ian

Re: DSLR Info/Help

either, they're all aimed at the entry level. Out of them I would go for either the D60 or the 400D.
However, best to handle each one and see what you like.

Worth also looking at the Sony A200/300
