The 10-20mm House

My boss aked me to take photo of his house (being as he paid for the camera, i could not refuse)
Grabbed my camera before i went to work yesterday, picked up the plastic case with the cpl in it
When i got there opened up the cpl case, Empty, oh no left it at home somewhere, so done without it.
After i got home last night went to put the camera away and there on the front of the lens was the cpl it had been there all the time from the last time i used the 10-20 DOH!, so dont know if it had any affect on the photo or not.

And at my age i dont suppose i will ever get it right, losing the plot seems to be a bit of a hobby with me these days

You'd think they could have hidden the cctv and alarm box a little better!

Nice work Baz - take your step ladders next time.

Re: The 10-20mm House

Its all one house Stevie boy, got by really working hard, the man thoroughly deserved it.
It has been extended twice since the 18th century the original is on the left
but although it looks big its only 6 metres deep.

Re: The 10-20mm House

Did he want it for a print?

Just a thought, if he does it might be worth going again and taking four shots at a closer range and stitching them in photoshop or similar. It'll save having the mass of drive in the forground and will make the house look even more impressive

Nice shot. Well worth going back to perfect.

Is that barrel distortion or are his walls all really that wonky?

Re: The 10-20mm House

159, they really are that wonky, its a listed building and it was in a bad state when he bought it, inside and out, but he,s working his way through the repairs.
Its a great place for his 2 kids, his son who is only 7 is a bmx champion and being as there is lots of grounds he has built a bmx track in the field with all all big bumps etc for the boy to practise.

Steve Green
No he did not want the photo for himself, it was for a specialist contractor whos has done some work on the house, and he wanted a photo for his brochure and in return will do some free work on the house, the contractor is happy with the photo, my boss is happy to keep the renovation costs down.
and i was happy to do it ---- The world is in harmony

But i will go back later in the year and have another go for myself

Thanks chaps

Re: The 10-20mm House

Sorry to bring this thread back again, but i downloaded the trial version of the Viveza plug in and had a go on the same pic, its probably a bit overdone, but i think Viveza is great tool for photoshop dummies like me.

Re: The 10-20mm House

I think i'd still try and cut out some of that driveway - seem's to be empty space to me. The colours are a little overdone and the sky could do with a bit of attention. Also still seems' a tiny bit wonky

So, you really liked the tree then

I could have cropped the foreground out, but left it the same as the original to show only the exposure changes.
On my pc, the exposure looks okay, but on my laptop it does look overdone

Re: The 10-20mm House

The exposure is bang on imo. Its just a little heavy on the saturation.

Re: The 10-20mm House

Due to popular demand have now dug up part of the driveway and toned down the saturation
