Decided to try to catch the sunrise this morning at a location nearly an hour's drive away. Leaving the house before 5am was a major test of willpower - especially as it was overcast & drizzly as I set off.
I headed to the extensive mudflats in the Bay of Mont St. Michel. I'd hoped to make some sort of composition out of the lines of marker sticks there that define passable tracks and pathways (it's pretty dangerous if you stray far from them). The weather cleared in my favour - but I couldn't find an alignment of markers for what I wanted - one for another time I guess.

Here's one such track with a tractor in the distance headed out towards the oysterbeds there. I was fairly pleased with the soft sky detail in this one.

The sunrise was quite soft and muted with constantly (and rapidly) changing colours.

A few more:

Nice warm dawn light gave an attractive hue to this little line of cliffs;

Driving back I caught these two as well;

Really drawn to your mono lighthouse, nice tones and layers

What were you not happy with regarding your current filters? Final result looks good to me, or did you have to correct a colour cast?

Thanks for your comments. #1 is definitely my favourite from today. The lighthouse pic has been far more popular on Flickr though.

Filters - I have a Hoya screw-in CPL and some Cokin (P) ND grads. Either works OK with slight and acceptable (to me) vignetting on my Tokina 12-24 but both together make the holder visible beyond 14-15mm.
Adjusting a screw-in CPL with an ND grad on the front is also tedious to say the least. And finally, yes, I think I am getting a bit of a cast. If you ramp-up the saturation slightly (as I've done on some of these), it becomes more marked. #3 for example had predominantly pink tones but I can't help but feel that a filter colour cast has been amplified too....
