Optimum memory speed for an 'old' Coolpix 4500?

I am after a new compact flash card (big one >2Gb) to use with an 'old' Nikon Coolpix 4500. This camera has some fairly unique capabilities wrt working with microscopes but it is not one of the current favourd 12M Pixel examples' currently on sale so specific info is difficult to track down without personal experience of users.

I want a card that is fast enough for this old ( and probably slow) 4mp camera but without buying the fastest on the market, only not too use the extra capabilities, as this card will be dedicated to this microscope camera and nothing else.

Has anyone got any ideas what models to go for? I have been looking at the basic, Ultra 11 and Extreme 111 SanDisks which have always been a good make for me but I am unsure what models to go for.

THANKS

basic would probably be fine. I went through this with my canon 350d a while ago, and worked out an ultraII was more than fast enough. if your camera is older than that then the basic will probably be fine

check out this link which goes into shot-shot timings and different card types for more info - LINK

Being as the camera is quite old in digital terms i would check out if it actually is capable of excepting a 2gb card.
I just read a review on DPReview and is stated that it was compatible with a 512mb card or a 1gb microdrive, so its likely that it may not accept anything bigger, but if you still have the manual it may confirm if this is true
