Ok Folks

I dont really fancy spending £300 for a macro lens, but if have to I might have to but would involve alot of nagging...

What other ways is there to take nice macro shoots.

Firstly, the Tamron 90mm macro goes for £199.99 at Onestop Digital, and the Sigma 105mm macro goes for about £20 more. Both are very good macro lenses.

The other alternatives are:

Get a set of extension tubes (Kenko or Jessops for Canon) and use a standard lens.

A Diopter that screws onto the lens like a filter (Canon 500D)

A reversing ring to mount a lens reversed on the camera's body

The results will not be as good as a dedicated macro lens, but might be acceptable to start off with.

Will those macro lens fit on a canon 5D if i decide to upgrade to one in a few month time after i get a work bonus

AFAIK the Tamron 90mm will work on a 5D.
