Sissinghurst Gardens with Nikon 105 F2.8 VR Macro

My first outing using the Nikon 105 VR at Sissinghurst Castle Gardens in Kent.

Nice work, pity about the blown highlights on number 5. For me 3 and 4 are the best.

Looks like that lens is working out well for you .

I reckon you might want to try and widen the aperture a bit. I notice some are at as much as f18, and that usually makes the background way too fussy for my taste

I tend to try a few pot luck ones wide open, because if they work, they can be really funky. I get a bit more joy with f5.6 (see below), and then an awful lot at about f7.1-f8. It's very rare that I'll use more than about f11 for flowers unless it's extreme closeup.

Some nice pics here, that a great capture of the Bee

I went to Sissinghust about two weeks ago and there wasn't much in the way of flowers then either.

Nice shots. Really like No.4, the flowers have an almost 'cartoon like' quality.
