Street photography in Dublin!

Guys

Just spent the day taking some pictures of people in Dublin!

Quite pleased with some of them! First real test of the 5D and I have to say I am more than happy!! Most shots taken with the 70-200 F4 IS L (amazin piece of kit)

This is the first real street photography style stuff that I have done! I was kinda dreading it, but I have to say that I really enjoyed it!

Hope you enjoy and let me know what yous think!

Re: Street photography in Dublin!

9 look slike the guy who owned Jordan racing! Nice shot.

I liked Dublin when I was over but I did think there were alot of folk begging compared to what I was expecting. It's a lovely looking city though, seemed very european looking to me, like Amsterdam rather than Glasgow if you know what I mean.

Re: Street photography in Dublin!

Geoff,

Great shots for a first try. Well done indeed. I must admit, I'd love to do some street stuff, but will need to work on my 'bottle' to get up enough of it to dare to venture out.

By the way, I wonder what the odds were for you on 'bumping into' none other than Eddie Jordan on your very first venture out !!!

Well done again. Regards, jonandjen

Geoff, I'd heard Eddie was a very down to earth guy despite being an 'extremely wealthy man' and so good to know that seems indeed the case.

Anyway, forgot to mention the 70-200 F4 IS L. Great to see you are loving the lens. It virtually never comes off my camera these days. I just find it more and more versatile, and sharpness and colours are just amazing.

Re: Street photography in Dublin!

Very nice set of photographs there

No 8 has the most impact on me, how sad that someone so young is reduced to begging on the streets, life can be cruel for so many people

Yeah, I find it so sad and so hard to know what to do! I dont want the guilt of fueling their 'habit' but I also dont want to ignore them! Difficult one.

Absolutely no reason why not!

Nice work Geoff and love some of the DoF.

Eddie looks good in his old age. Enjoy the holiday and maybe you can keep us updated with your progress.

Re: Street photography in Dublin!

Hello there

Great set off shots there, always found Dublin a great city. Work there for a little while and farther in law is from there.

#5 a great capture off happiness, were #8 is at the other end of the scale.

A great shot at the end of Eddie Jordon.

Cheers Holo

Re: Street photography in Dublin!

Some really nice shots there. Really like the old lady with the shopping trolley thing.

It's funny, I was thinking - That Tramp seems to have a very expensive looking hair cut.

Re: Street photography in Dublin!

Nice shots. I've yet to be shown around the streets of Dub, though I've passed through on many an occasion!

I don't know if I could have the courage to take pictures of people, though I really want to as I see some great shots from people posting on here!
