Ok Its worse...than all of those.

You know I like a Beach shot or two...well the unthinkable happened.

Dont ask me how, but my camera just leaped off the tripod and ended up in a rock pool a foot deep

To make things worse im off to the isle of wight for 5 days at the end of the week with a beach right next to where i will be staying.

I dont reckon the insurance will be sorted by then

Aaarghh! Nightmare. What sort of mount thing were you using to hold (or not!) the camera to the tripod?

Hope the insurance comes through...looks like you'll be needing a D3.

I dont think I can stretch the truth that far

Just one of those spring clips that hold the plate on....cant have been secure obviously

Ive thought about that...but my policy is like for like,so there going to want me to send my D80 off to them and then replace it....right.

Or they at least are going to ask for a receipt or somekind of proof of purchase...I guess.

Ive never really made a claim so dont know the process at all.

when i claimed for a laptop i posted it to them. They called two days later to say they would replace it. Got my new one a couple of days later. All in took about a week.
