It was the inaugural meeting of the Shropshire Community Flickr group today and we decided that Attingham Park just outside Shrewsbury would be as good a place as any to start. 8 of us turned up and got very wet walking around the grounds. I wanted to go into the house itself but they don't allow photography inside so no point really.

Anyway, some pictures:

The vignette is natural and was caused by the circular polariser, something I will have to watch out for.

Just inside the main entrance, I noticed the light flooding in from the window.

A gate on the boundaries of the grounds, I liked the three main colours here, grey sky, brown field and green grass. (Subtle Orton effect used here)

All on the 5D with the 24-70mm lens. Hopefully they won't look too dark on your screen as I have processed them on my laptop which has a very bright screen. Please let me know if they appear too dark.

How tempted were you to just nudge open that stable door? (which is my fav btw.)

I didn't actually go into the stables themselves so I don't even know if it was locked or not. On the way out someone had moved the broomstick though so no-one else got this shot

@ Pete. Had we been allowed into the house to take photos I would have had a lot more like that, massive windows and huge rooms would have been great in that early (ish) morning light. I was disappointed but thats the Natural Trust for you

I think it's the broom that makes it. Try covering it up with your thumb on the monitor - not the same is it?
