Where to buy Circular Polarizing Filter and/or ND grads??

Inspired by the 'Skye Photos' thread, full of amazing landscapes with dramatic skys and silky waterfalls, and with my birthday on the horizon, I would like to buy a Polarizing filter and [budget dependent] a/some ND grads as well [I note allymac makes good use of his ND8].

Anyone got any pointers as to the best place [online preferred] to get these sorts of things?? And any particular brand recommendations would also be greatly appreciated

For the Polarizer I'd go with Hoya here

If it's Cokin P Grads your after then 7dayshop do them here

Hoya ND8's are worth a look on ebay aswell here

Thanks but I don't actually own any grads. Make sure you don't get confused between a solid ND which is of continuous darkness all over and its only use is to allow for longer shutter speed, and a graduated ND which has a variant darkness. I emulate GND's in photoshop by bracketing my images.

I think I bought my CPL (Hoya Pro1) and my Hoya ND8 off of ebay.

Warehouse Express is a good spot for filters of all types.

Note also that some significant post processing was involved in many of the Skye shots, usually achieved by blending of 3-5 bracketed exposures in my case.

Are Hoya polarizers the ones to go for? £25-40 seems quite high when there are others for around £10. Do you get what you pay for?

£25-£40 is quite resonable for a half decent filter, hoya are one of the cheaper options when it comes to filters and in particular polarisers, the high end manufacturers like B&W and Lee you can be looking at upwards of £70 for a polariser. I think given how useful polarisers are it's worth putting the boat out a bit and getting a decent one like hoya (I have two Hoya polarisers one 67mm, the other 77mm)
