Lucky Sparrow shot

On Friday afternoon, just as the sun was setting, I saw some sparrows sitting in the hedge outside. I managed to get this one, handholding 1/80s at 300mm with the old faithful Siggy 70-300mm APO. Who needs IS/VR anyway

I like the warm light that caught the sparrow just right. It was about the only time that day the sun shone!

Re: Lucky Sparrow shot

Wonderful colours Mike, and I like your use of dof with that subtle out of focus foreground

Re: Lucky Sparrow shot

Thanks for looking and commenting all.

This was a lucky shot in more ways than one because after I took it, I decided to delete all the non keepers in camera, and, you guessed it, I deleted this one as well .
On Saturday I set Don't Panic to grind its way through the 300+ RAW shots on the card, and after running for about 14 hrs, I was relieved to see this shot pop out.

Mike
