My 1000th post!!

Guys/Gals

Its hard to believe that I have been part of this big happy AV family for nearly four years. I have learnt so much during this time (I know it doesnt show sometimes), but AVForums has been an excellent source of learning and encouragement for me.

I know I don't post as many pictures as I would like too, but I always have good intentions! I am going to try and discipline myself in the future!

Throughout the past four years I have got to know some fantastic people on the "meets". They really have been the highlights for me. Great craic and a great source of learning. So thanks to those who made the effort to attend the Birmingham and Belfast meets. I really wish I could have got to more of them. Hopefully in the future!

So, as I post my 1000th post I just wanted to say thanks for the past 4 years and heres to many more.

However, there is one BIG ISSUE in all this!! I AM ABSOLUTELY SKINT!!! I contracted a rare disorder when I signed up here. The main symptoms are spending copious amounts of cash on things that seem pointless to non sufferers. I am starting to get the sniffles as I type. I will be buying a 5D + 24-105 F4 L IS very soon! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Well, I sorry for the waffle, but I am pleased to be part of such a good community.

As I struggle to reach 100 I cannot help but agree with the sentiments regarding AVForums. Friendly, helpful folk.

Cheers!! Yeah, hopefully you will see more from me over the next while! I have started a photography club in my church so hopefully that will drive me to take more pics every month!!

Its an unwritten rule on here that every member who reaches a 1000 posts has to upgrade all of his photographic equipment within 4 weeks.

That's true, its an extreme rule and one that doesn't come cheap for the one who has to bear it but rules are rules

Absolutely! that certainly seems to be the case so I wouldnt want to be the one that breaks that unwritten rule!! LOL

Congratulations.. Well done,

As for upgrading now.. get a lens filter and more batteries for your flash
Then wait for 5Ds replacement.. should ensure its a tad more affordable

I did get some filters from 7DayShop a couple of weeks ago!

You see, my wife and I are heading to HK, Sydney, NZ & Fiji so I would like to have my 5D for that!!! Oh decisions decisions! Are you serious when you say to wait!!??
