One happy customer. New tripod and head.

Must say I am very happy with the service from the guys at Jacob's Photographic here in Leicester.
First of all I'll have to say that I am in favour of purchasing from my local store, mainly for support of a local business, secondly I find it very convenient to just pop in the shop, look at what I want, take it into my hands and see how it works and feels and then purchase it and finally I feel kinda bad of going into the shop, seeing what I like, getting all the help from the employees there, and I must say they are very helpful indeed, and then going and buying the item from the internet.
So, I was looking at the Manfrotto 055XPROB and the 486RC2 head for my 120-300mm f2.8, a necessary purchase due to the weight of the lens, and the price at the store was for both together £187. After searching on the web, I could find the tripod legs for £112 from Morrisphotography on ebay (a UK shop) and the head for £40ish from another UK shop. I was ready to order on the internet when I decided that I should give the guys at Jacob's another chance. Went to the store, told them this story and that I have been purchasing from their store for 3 year now. I bought my camera and two lenses from them, I print my photos there, both film and digital, and also went with a friend who bought the 400D with kit lens. I told them the price I found on the internet, and yes, they price-matched, giving me a final price of £154.99! I am so happy with the service there. I must have paid about £3 more than what I would've got from the internet incl. delivery, but I was willing to pay up to £10 just for the reasons I stated above.

So, I'm waiting for my Sigma 2X EX DG to arrive tomorrow before 1pm, wildlife, here I come!!!

Sounds like everyone's happy in that deal... keeps the real store in business too.
Good effort! Perhaps we should all try that a bit more.

Does Felix the fox know his presence is required tomorrow pm?!

I hope he keeps his apointment this time. I've been looking for him for 2 days now, no sign of him yet, only a couple of rabbits to keep me company during my walks!
