I have used 7dayshop for memory and smaller stuff, they have been very good, prices are keen and service has always been prompt, never had to return items, which is always the best customer satisfaction barometer.

I believe they are based on the Channel Isles and some of their stock may be imported from Europe, so if that's the case it might be worth checking whether this will affect the warranty as it is country specific on Canon bodies.

I am going to wait until the Sony A350 is also out and see how it is compared to the 450D. I need a new camera and don't mind holding on for a few months.

for an extra £50 you can have the 40D - save you some money in the long run

Yeah.

I placed an order for a lens cover, cleaning kit, lowepro bag and a cf card 17 days ago.

I gave up on the bag and card as they seemed to be unable to give me a projected date for the stock arrival, and not terribly communicative to boot.

I won't be near them again on this experience.

I have to say that a 40D @ £500 (after rebates) is a much better deal than the 450D @ £450 regardless of whether you expect to get 'upgradeitis' .
If your heart is set on the 450D, I'd advise you to wait until it's been out for a couple of weeks because I think current 40D pricing will drive 450D prices down fast.
