A Bee landing on an Iris

Just as I was shooting this picture the bee appeared

All comments welcome. Picture taken using the D300 with Sigma 150 (a combination I am liking more every shot).

Dam insects, I hope you squashed it for spoiling the shot.

Re: A Bee landing on an Iris

What I really like is how well lined up the bee is to the flower, you've timed that to perfection.

Yes I did, didn't I?

Of course, it took a long time to train the bee

Re: A Bee landing on an Iris

Nice shot John, and as there are currently no Irises flowering outdoors in the Northern hemisphere, I assume that you are still in Southern Africa, which makes this the infamous African killer bee

Just as well you were using the Siggy 150mm and its extra working distance

Mike

It looks huge. At least the size of a tennis ball!

Of course not - how else would I have got it to sit still for the shot?
