which compact digital cameras are out there that are well worth considering? i currently have a ixus 65 which i am happy with. however, i'm going to new york in april and am wondering whether i should look to 'update' the ixus 65 while i'm out there.

i like compact, nice looking cameras. so for example, i've always like the ixus series...the sony txx series (although i've never owned one)...the casio elixim's are also ok in terms of how they look. on the other hand, i know the canon powershots have got really good reviews but because of their more bulky nature, i've discounted them and gone for the ixus'. in fact, i have always owned canon's but want to know if there is anything else out there that i should perhaps consider as an upgrade. i want a compact, good looking camera with lots of features that must take very good photos in majority of conditions...

any advice/recommendations appreciated!
