Hi all...does anyone use this function much?

I've got a large number of files to process for a friend (about 135) and I want to give them a basic once-over to enhance them before I hand them over without spending a massive amount of time on each one.

I'm still getting to grips with Elements and am never sure if there is a specific order that the Auto changes should be applied in as the results do seem to differ depending on what's applied and when.

Does anyone find it more beneficial to tick all the Quick Fix options for a batch conversion (AutoLevels, AutoContrast, AutoColor, Sharpen) and let Elements do it's thang or do you find better all-round results from only appyling the contrast and sharpen options, for example?

I do , and mainly for resizing ect
I think it is probably not a good idea for enhancing unless the images are very similar
Something like Canons DPP actually has RBG editing for jpegs wich can be applied to a group of , or some images just as with RAW
If you use the "auto fix" as a batch process ( which is waht multiple file process is) you might find yourself "unprocessing some files

TBH 150 images with simple adjustment levels, USM ect should take you 90 min max and you can do it in 2 goes giving each image "star" treatment

I've never used this option before, but surely every picture is different in what needs to be done to it?, batch might sound ok to save time, but are the end results pleasing?

That's exactly what happened when I tested using it with all the quick fix options checked.

I was trying to just get them all to a decent level then if they wanted any specific photos edited further, cropped etc they could come back to me...so trying to save that 90mins in the first instance.

Exactly, the autofix that works for one doesn't work on another. Looks like there's no "blanket" setting that can improve ALL the photos in a batch without giving them indiviual attention.
