Question Best bag for laptop + cam + handluggage

I am going abroad in 2 weeks and am looking to get a bag that will hold my camera and 3 lenses as well as my macbook pro. It needs to be within UK handluggage regulations.

I was looking at the compurover AW as well as the Tamrac adventure 9 (this is 3cm too deep for handluggage, if they want to be picky!).

One alternative would be to get one that takes the camera stuff and just has the rest as misc storage, I could then just get a protective "pouch" for the macbook and put it in there, as opposed to getting a bad dedicated for the job, as 9 times out of 10 I would not have a laptop with me.

What do you guys think?

Cheers,

Jim

Re: Best bag for laptop + cam + handluggage

Makro have some good bags, I got a sigma laptop backpack from there for about £20-£30 and have had it on planes with 2 laptops, smallish digital camera, keyboard, notebook riser and mice etc and it was still small emough to take on the planes. I have been with easyjet, ryanair, westjet, flyglobespan with the bag and never had any problems. My local makro has a good selection of bags and they are all out for you to look at before you buy.

About the one you want thats 3cm to big that wont matter as long as the bag fits or squeezes in the guide that they should have at the checkout.

Cheers for that... not sure how it's gonna be, as i'm not sure how it's measured i.e. I don't think my laptop and camera will "squeeze" LOL. That said, I believe you're ok to carry a laptop separate to hand luggage, if memory serves correctly.
