I spent a very enjoyable weekend in Finland watching a rally (
Rallying in Finland and then driving rally cars on a frozen lake. The lake belongs to none other than the famous rally driver Juha Kankkunen. He also invited us to view his private museum of rally cars and Ferraris but we were under strict instuction not to take any photos
Ready for the off. We had a choice of older rally cars. A Toyota Starlet (this was probably the most popular car), Opel Kadet (This was the car that was the last drivable and spent most of the time spinning), BMW 325 (I managed to break this one), 2 x VW Polos and an Evo 9.
One of the local Caterham 7 owners turned up. Brrrrrrrrrrr
Evo blasting away into the distance driven by Aki, one of our hosts
Toyota down the back straight
One of the many time the Opel spend spinning on the track
Even the caterhma ventured onto the track. One thing, the rally cars were running full WRC studded tyres and the Caterham was only using road tyres with small studs. Also how about this for commitment, Myles, who sometimes frequents this forum and is a fellow caterham owner, trying to get some unusual shots.
This was such a great car to drive as so easy compared to the older cars
This shots gives you an idea of the expance we had to play with
Thanks for looking
